Are electric cars really green

1. Engine efficiency: Electric motors have higher efficiency than gasoline engines
The power source of electric motors is also fossil fuels. Whether a car is energy-saving is actually about its engine efficiency, the efficiency of converting fuel/energy sources into mechanical energy. The theoretical maximum efficiency of gasoline and diesel engines is 50%, while the actual efficiency is only 30-40%. The theoretical maximum efficiency of electric motors is 88%, and the actual usage efficiency exceeds 60%.
2. Driving efficiency: In urban road driving, electric vehicles have more advantages in efficiency
Electric vehicles save more electricity at lower speeds, which is basically in line with the trend of energy consumption. The economic speed of most gasoline and diesel vehicles is between 60 to 100 kilometers per hour.
3. Energy conversion: The electric energy obtained from electric vehicle batteries is not energy-saving after multiple conversions?
The energy forms used in gasoline, diesel, and electric vehicles all undergo complex conversion and transmission processes from oil wells, and it is not easy to determine which is more environmentally friendly.
4. Performance fuel consumption: There is no significant difference in fuel consumption between high-performance and ordinary performance electric vehicles
In order to maintain the cylinder operation of the ultra large displacement engine, high-performance sports cars will definitely consume much more fuel than small displacement cars even under low load operating conditions. Electric motors have the characteristic of 'outputting as much power as needed', and whether they are high-performance electric vehicles or household electric vehicles, there will be no significant difference in power consumption under low load operation.
